Those expecting a nice warm evening like us officials were disappointed. Very cold in the north westerly wind despite the bright sunshine. It has been dry most of the last week but some managed to find heavy mud due to ploughing, and Elen liked it so much she kicked her shoes off just to get more of it between her toes. Congratulations to Diane who improved from last in March to first tonight!Welcome to Sally who set off on her own bravely with no idea where she was going and got close to the time of several very decent runners. Also commiserations to Mike Hb who suffered a pulled muscle in the cold. Brilliant return by Shaun J, and excellent run by Helen (after Sunday’s quick 10K too) but a clear new Men’s record by Tony W – I am continuing the records of the course we used from 2012 -2015 despite the short cut over the stream which I’m regarding as worth 30 seconds or so. John Morris held the previous record of 19m23 in April 2014. Vic did 19m48 in 2013. Emma holds the women’s record with 21m24 in June 2013. Rhian did 21m25 in August 2013. In that context, Katy’s 22m43 today represents her entry into the reckoning as a proper cross country runner!
