It’s been a busy few weeks of racing with successes on both the roads and fells. Here’s a round up of the last few weeks of racing:
Sunday 16th February:
20 Denbigh Harriers turned out for the Ruthin 5k and 10k with a 1,2,3 for Denbigh Harriers women as well as category wins for some of the men.
In the 10k it was another 1st and 2nd for the women and more category wins for the men.

Sunday 23rd February
Four hardy Denbigh Harriers made it over to the village of Cilcain to take part in the Sheeptracks fell race. The race is a self navigated fell race over the Clwydian Range on varied terrain from muddy trods to gorse and heather. The distance and elevation gain of each course depended on the route you choose inbetween checkpoints.
There were two race options. A long course that was roughly 30k and a short course that was 20k. A 120 runners turned up to race in torrential rain and 50mph winds, with all harriers having great runs and some picking up some prizes..

Saturday 1st March
A glorious sunny day saw a record turnout of 139 runners for the 21st Pipe Dream fell race in Dolgarrog with 1300ft climb in 4.2 miles and the first counter in the North Wales Series. After climbing up the 600 plus steps Tony Wood stormed through to finish 13th in 39.32. Glyn Rees 39th in 44.18, Ted Conry 43rd 45.05, Owen Conry 62nd 50.09, Rachael Evans 64th 50.27 (3rd WO), Peter Lester-Owen 78th 52.56 (3rd v60) and Mike Hobday 83rd 54.09.
Sunday 2nd March
3 Denbigh Harriers took part in the Anglesey Half Marathon. Flanked by stunning views of Eryri and the Menai Straights the flat and fast course attracted over 350 runners this year. John Millington was the first Harrier over the finish line in a time of 1:48:14, followed by Charlotte Dobson in 1:53:48 (PB) and then Jasmin Millington-Morgan in 2:20:43.
