The Clwydian Hills Fell Race was the last race of the North Wales Fell Series and with four Denbigh Harriers in contention for series prizes there was a good turnout. The race itself was run over 9 miles and climbed onto the Moel Famau ridge three times over a lot of pathless terrain and climbed 3000′ in total making this a challenging proposition for the nearly 200 runners. Vic Belshaw ran a very strong race and his finishing place of 17th in this high class field is testament to his great current form. With this race he won the Over 50 Male category for the series with David Baugh 3rd. Victoria Whitehead was the winner of a closely fought Harriers race with in a race with Tony Benton and Ceri Belshaw. Victoria’s result was enough to make her a prize winner in her category for the series. Jon Whitehead used his local knowledge to guide Menai Baugh round the challenging route and knock 25 minutes off his time from last year. Although absent from the race Emma Collins was another category prize winner for the series.
18th Vic Belshaw 1:29:15, 47th David Baugh 1:37:37, 91th Victoria Whitehead 1:50:08, 96th Tony Benton 1:51:20, 97th Ceri Belshaw 1:51:32, 153rd Jon Whitehead 2:11:30, 160th Menai Baugh 2:14:32
