One of the toughest road 10Ks. 350 ft of climb in the first 4 miles but the real problem is at 4.5 miles with what feels like a vertical climb out of the Afon Ystrad valley which follows half a mile of steep downhill (with one bit of steep climb just to break it up). Just over 200 people finished with almost an equal gender split (unusual). Not quite as many Harriers as expected for a local race, but several more people did the 5K – sadly incomprehensible results for that have been put up on the provisional results website. The 10K results do seem accurate:
22nd Duncan ……..47m02 (3rd M50)
36th Rob G…………49m25
44th Chris…………..51m03 (2nd M60)
54th James…………52m41
118th Gwenan……..60m21 (2nd W50)
119th Helen D……..60m27
136th Lisa……………66m00
The next fairly local 10K is at Whitley near Frodsham on April 23rd – a lot flatter than this one.
The 5K results are now complete:
2nd ShaunH ……….18m51
7th Bob……………….25m27 (1st M60)
11th Gwenno W…..27m52 (2nd Woman)
12th David Sp………27m56 (3rd M40)
26th Gwenno E…….33m53
27th Nicola………….33m54
28th Ron…………….34m13 (1st M70)
62 finishers
